Jeremy Corbyn takes part in a Palestine Coalition march in central London, January 31, 2026
JEREMY Corbyn asked Sir Keir Starmer today if he will co-operate with any investigation into British complicity in war crimes following the publication of the Gaza Tribunal Report.
The former Labour leader wrote to the PM, Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper and former foreign secretary David Lammy after the tribunal found ministers should face investigation by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for failing to prevent a genocide in Gaza.
The letter urged the government to end all military co-operation with Israel as well as impose economic sanctions and suspend its trade agreement with the state.
The tribunal calls for a full investigation by the ICC into Britain’s actions in response to the conflict, as well as an independent public inquiry into any co-operation between Britain and Israel since October 2023.
It says that Britain was complicit in Israel’s actions, which a UN commission found to have constituted a genocide last year.
Keir Starmer explains that UK is participating defensively in Trump and Israel’s criminal war for Israel’s genocidal expansion in Iran and states that he supports Zionism “without qualification”. Starmer attempts to make up with the warmongering US president as tens of thousands protest against the bombing of Iran over the weekend
SIR KEIR STARMER attempted to make friends with Donald Trump today after the warmongering US president criticised Britain’s slowness in joining the US-Israeli attack on Iran.
The Prime Minister spoke to Mr Trump about the countries’ military co-operation, Downing Street said, after the decision not to grant permission for use of British bases in the first wave of military action prompted a raft of criticism from the Republican leader.
Sir Keir has now granted permission for “defensive” US action against Iranian missile sites from British bases, despite opposition to war from the British public.
Over the weekend, four US bombers landed in RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire, and the US started using British bases for “specific defensive operations.”
…
It came as tens of thousands gathered in protest against the bombing of Iran over the weekend.
Protesters carried signs reading “Stop Trump’s Wars” and “Stop Arming Israel,” as they marched to the US embassy in central London from Millbank.
Addressing the crowd outside the embassy, Your Party MP Zarah Sultana recalled the 2003 US-led invasion of Iraq, telling the crowd: “Back then, we were told that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction.
“We were told that war would bring peace and democracy.
“We were told that the war would protect Iraqis and protect the world, but the truth was very different.”
But “23 years ago, when we marched against the Iraq war, we were ignored,” she said.
“We will not be ignored again, because history proved them right.
“And today, we raise our voices for peace, for justice and for a world where governments learn the lessons of the past.”
A statement from former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, who could not attend the protest, was read to the crowd outside the embassy.
In the statement, Mr Corbyn, now also a Your Party MP, said: “For too long, the UK has blindly followed the US as it indulges in catastrophic interventions around the world.
“We are here to defend something different, a foreign policy based on co-operation, equality and sovereignty.
“Forever war is not a game. It has real-life human consequences, and US and Israel must be held accountable.”

Stop the War Coalition convener Lindsey German said every war “they have engaged in in the last 25 years, they’ve claimed they’ve done it to liberate women.”
“That’s what they’re saying about the war on Iran as well,” she said. “But the first thing that they did was to kill 165 young girls in a school.
“We should never, ever believe their lies.”
She told Sir Keir: “Stop appeasing Donald Trump all the way to world war three.
“We’re absolutely fed up with this gangster imperialism.”

Major protests to take place as campaigners warn against war on Iran
MAJOR demonstrations will be held outside the US embassy and at RAF Fairford today amid growing fears Donald Trump’s war on Iran will kill hundreds of thousands of people.
Campaigners warned that Britain was at a “dangerous turning point” as the US-Israel bombings of Tehran continues to escalate.
PM Sir Keir Starmer’s claims the US can only use British bases for so-called “defensive” bombings will be branded “nonsense” by Your Party leader Jeremy Corbyn MP, who is set to speak outside the embassy in central London.
Stop the War Coalition national convener Lindsey German said: “We are at such a dangerous turning point and must redouble our efforts to oppose Trump’s wars, to call for an end to our government’s support for them and to stop arming and backing Israel.
“Keir Starmer knows the US and Israel are waging an illegal war on Iran, but the fact is Britain is deeply involved.
“That’s why this is such an important demonstration in building a movement in this country as strong as the Palestine movement, as strong as the opposition to the Iraq war — one that rejects a world based on barbarism and Trump’s gangster imperialism and instead builds one based on peace and justice.”

JEREMY CORBYN’S Bill demanding parliamentary oversight of the use of British bases for foreign countries’ wars is urgent and necessary.
Our craven Prime Minister has already given the United States permission to use British bases in the Middle East for its war of aggression against Iran.
Reversing that is essential to keep Britain out of a war we did not choose and which most British people oppose. It is also the most immediate practical step we can take to limit the escalation of the war we are already seeing across the Middle East.
Donald Trump was emboldened to start war with Iran because no US ally was prepared to stand up to his illegal aggression against Venezuela at the start of the year.
Having kidnapped the leader of one country, he has now killed the leader of another; still our government won’t acknowledge that the Trump White House is the biggest threat to peace and stability worldwide.
War crimes of the worst sort are normalised by the refusal to hold perpetrators to account. Having watched his allies make excuse after excuse for the mass murder he has inflicted on Gaza, Israel’s Benjamin Netanyahu fears no retaliation for incinerating 150 schoolgirls in Iran.
This impunity is dangerous: it leads the US and Israel to conclude they can do what they like. That means more atrocities and more wars.
Turning our bases into targets by allowing the US to use them to strike Iran increases the risk the war will spread.
And escalation is inherent in this war, started without defined aims or an exit strategy.
So poorly planned, in fact, that Trump himself admits the US didn’t make arrangements to evacuate its embassies in the region because “it happened very quickly” — a poor excuse in a conflict you started yourself. US Senator Elizabeth Warren, after a classified briefing, is blunt: “The Trump administration has no plan in Iran.”

Corbyn tables Commons Bill requiring Parliament’s approval before allowing foreign militaries to use British bases
LEFT MPs moved today to block Britain from being dragged deeper into the escalating attack against Iran.
Former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn tabled a Commons Bill to require MPs’ approval before allowing foreign militaries to use British military bases.
The move comes as not only are US forces using the bases to pursue their illegal aggression, but British military forces are increasingly becoming directly involved in the conflict.
Mr Corbyn’s Military Action (Parliamentary Approval) Bill is co-sponsored by Labour, Green and Independent Alliance MPs and a response to PM Sir Keir Starmer’s agreement to allow US use of the bases.
While it has scant chance of becoming law, it signals growing disquiet in Labour’s ranks and beyond about Britain getting bogged down in supporting US President Donald Trump’s attack.
It would “require parliamentary approval for the deployment of UK armed forces and military equipment for armed conflict” and “require parliamentary approval for the granting of permission by ministers for use of UK military bases and equipment by other nations for armed conflict.”
Its co-sponsors are new Green MP Hannah Spencer and her colleague Ellie Chowns, Adnan Hussein and Ayoub Khan from the Independent Alliance and Labour’s Bell Ribeiro-Addy, Brian Leishman, John McDonnell, Richard Burgon, Apsana Begum, as well as suspended Labour MP Diane Abbott.
Sir Keir is under growing pressure from Mr Trump to fall in line as British governments usually do, forcing the premier to assert in the Commons that the “special relationship” did not “depend on hanging on to President Trump’s latest word.”
