[Declassified UK] Exclusive: Elbit Systems pushed for retrial after charges against Palestine Action co-founders were dismissed, new documents show.

Israel’s largest weapons company, Elbit Systems, lobbied the Home Office for a retrial after criminal charges against Palestine Action’s co-founders were dismissed, Declassified can reveal.

Jurors at Snaresbrook Crown Court acquitted six pro-Palestine activists of nine charges in December 2023, while failing to reach a decision on 23 other charges.

Now, a letter seen by Declassified shows that Elbit’s UK security director, Chris Morgan, wrote to Britain’s then policing minister Chris Philp on 15 January 2024.

He noted that “the founders and controlling minds of the Palestine Action criminal group, Richard Barnard and Huda Ammori, were on trial for a multitude of offences”.

Morgan added: “Whilst Barnard was found guilty of criminal damage at one of our sites, the jury failed to reach a verdict on seven other charges for them both – including two counts of burglary which took place in 2020”.

To this end, Morgan raised concerns that “a re-trial is not a certainty” and suggested “it is very much in the public interest for this trial to be re-heard at the earliest opportunity”, emphasising “the prolific and serious nature of Palestine Action’s offending”.

The letter provides further evidence of Elbit Systems pressuring the British authorities to crack down on Palestine Action, which the UK government has said it will proscribe.

Pro-Palestine activists declare victory after shipping giant Maersk divests from Israeli settlements

Maersk’s decision follows over a year of pressure by the “Mask off Maersk” campaign, led by the Palestinian Youth Movement

Danish shipping giant Maersk has become the first global shipping company to divest from companies in Israeli settlements following a concerted pressure campaign by pro-Palestine activists across the globe. The company has stated that it will cut ties with companies linked to Israeli settlements in the West Bank.

This decision follows over a year of pressure by the “Mask off Maersk” campaign, led by the Palestinian Youth Movement (PYM), an international Palestinian diaspora organization. Since launching the campaign in the summer of 2024, the PYM has aimed to shed light on Maersk’s role in supplying Israel with military shipments as it continues its genocide in Gaza. In January of 2025, PYM released a report detailing Maersk’s role in facilitating exports from Israeli settlements.

PYM noted in a statement that “this marks the first time in history that a global shipping company has committed to full compliance with the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) database,” which documents “all business enterprises involved in certain specified activities related to the Israeli settlements in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem,” according to the OHCHR.

Divestment from Israeli settlements has been a popular demand of the pro-Palestine movement for decades. “Maersk’s decision proves that divestment from occupation is not only possible – it’s necessary,” said Aisha Nizar of the Palestinian Youth Movement. “This sends a clear message to the global shipping industry: compliance with international law and basic human rights is not optional. Doing business with Israel’s illegal settlements is no longer viable, and the world is watching to see who follows next.”

“Still, as Israel escalates its military aggression across the region, Maersk continues to profit from the genocide of our people – regularly shipping F-35 components used to bomb and massacre Palestinians,” Aisha added. “The Mask Off Maersk campaign is far from over. We will continue to build pressure and mobilize people power until Maersk cuts all ties to genocide and ends the transport of weapons and weapons components to Israel.”

Since its launch, the “Mask Off Maersk” campaign has spread across the globe, with Palestine solidarity protests in Morocco delaying a Maersk ship reportedly bound for Israel back in April. In February, activists shut down Maersk headquarters in Copenhagen through a demonstration of nearly 1,000 people. Last fall, the Spanish government decided to block Maersk ships bound to Israel following pressure from activists.

Labour government not just complicit – they are active participants in genocide, says Polanski

Deputy leader of the Green Party, Zack Polanski, spoke at the National March for Palestine in London on Saturday attended by tens of thousands of people.

He said:

“Today, tens of thousands of people marched through the streets of our capital with one clear message: the Genocide in Gaza must stop – now. I was proud to stand alongside so many others who refuse to look away from the horror and injustice unfolding before our eyes.”

“We have to be clear and say this loud – our government is not just complicit but active participants. Entire neighbourhoods reduced to rubble. Hospitals targeted. Children buried beneath collapsed buildings

“The many thousands on the street today were clear: this is not self-defence, this is collective punishment. The UK must immediately end arms sales to Israel, support an urgent and permanent ceasefire, and back a full international investigation into war crimes and crimes against humanity.”

“The people of Gaza need more than our solidarity – they need action. That’s why I marched today, and why Greens across the country will continue to speak out until justice, safety, and freedom are secured for all Palestinians and Israelis alike.”

Fighter jet parts sent through UK airport to Israel

[Declassifieduk.org] Exclusive: As Israel uses F-35 fighter jets to bomb Iran and Gaza, we reveal parts for these warplanes were transported via London last month.

Fighter jet components were transported via London Stansted airport to Israel last month, shipping documents seen by Declassified and The Ditch indicate.

The documents show how parts were shipped from the US by Lockheed Martin, an arms giant and the prime contractor in the F-35 fighter jet programme.

They passed through London Stansted Airport between 21 and 27 May before being sent on to “F-35 Israel Site Base 28” in Nevatim airbase, which houses Israel’s squadrons of fighter jets.

The UK government suspended direct exports of F-35 parts to Israel last year but claimed it was not able to stop UK-made components being sent to Israel via third countries.

British ministers have said that stopping all F-35 exports would endanger “international peace and security” and suggested that Israel needs the advanced aircraft to “defend” itself against Iran.

Britain’s trade department further claimed it was not possible to track UK-made parts once they had entered global spares pools and stop them from being exported to Israel.

But the documents obtained by Declassified and The Ditch suggest it is possible to track shipments of F-35 components to Israel – including those passing through UK territory.

They further indicate how Britain continues to facilitate the F-35 supply chain to Israel even after the September arms restrictions, a finding which could implicate ministers in war crimes.

Jeremy Corbyn MP told Declassified: “Every day, we learn more and more about the true depths of UK complicity in war crimes.

“We must never lose sight of the fact that human beings are being torn apart and killed by F-35 jets – human beings who deserve to live a full life of happiness and peace like anyone else.

“The government is doing everything it can to avoid a full, independent, public inquiry into the UK’s involvement in Israeli military operations in Gaza. This damning revelation helps to explain why. Momentum is shifting – we will expose the truth, and we will bring about justice for the Palestinian people”.
