Exclusive: Days after the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli leaders, its top general flew to London.

Israel’s top soldier, Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi, visited Britain earlier this week, the UK government has confirmed to Declassified.

The visit came three days after the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former defence minister Yoav Gallant for “crimes against humanity and war crimes”.

Those include “the war crime of starvation as a method of warfare; and the crimes against humanity of murder, persecution, and other inhumane acts”, as well as “intentionally directing an attack against the civilian population”.

Halevi was initially reported to have been included in the ICC’s arrest applications for the crime of having “deliberately starved Palestinians in Gaza”. He was also forced to apologise in April after the Israeli military killed seven international aid workers including three Britons in Gaza.

A Ministry of Defence spokesperson told Declassified: “As part of the concerted UK effort, along with allies and partners, to reach a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflicts in Lebanon and Gaza, the Chief of the Defence Staff hosted his counterparts from Israel and other European partners”.

The spokesperson added: “Discussions included the UK calls for an immediate ceasefire in both Lebanon and Gaza and the need for all parties to comply with international humanitarian law while recognising Israel’s right to security”.

A ceasefire deal to end fighting between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon was announced on Tuesday.

IT SCARCELY gets more dangerous than this. The semi-senile President of the United States has determined to use his remaining months in office to dramatically ratchet up the war in Ukraine.

Joe Biden’s decision to allow Ukraine to fire US-supplied missiles deep into Russia, permission it has hitherto withheld, is a major step towards extending the conflict into an actual face-off between the world’s two major nuclear-armed powers.

Since the missiles concerned cannot easily be operated without full US logistical, intelligence and targeting support, this takes the prolonged proxy war much closer to a direct clash.

Biden’s move looks likely to be echoed, as ever, by Keir Starmer, who has been prevented by Washington from allowing Ukraine to use British Storm Shadow missiles to hit targets inside Russia. Those restrictions may now be cast aside.

Starmer is talking of “doubling down” on the war at the precise moment when hopes for an end to a bloody and unnecessary conflict should be rising.

The people must press for peace in Ukraine as a matter of urgency, on the basis of stable security for all. That is already the demand of most of the world’s nations, and it must be imposed on Labour’s warlords.

Current UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has been fundamentally dishonest in obscuring the extent of his and the UK military’s active support for Israel’s genocide. Starmer has been urging Israel to be restrained while secretly Israel would not have been able to conduct it’s genocidal campaign without UK support. The UK air force has conducted 49% of spy flights over Gaza identifying targets, UK’s 77 Brigade specialising in psychological warfare has been advising Israel – no doubt about all the lies that have enabled hospitals to be destroyed – and weapons have been supplied to Israel through UK bases in Cyprus. It is now revealed that Starmer & Co are intimately involved in the slaughter of non-combatants, aid workers, journalists and health workers and in the deliberate starvation inflicted on Gaza.

Starmer has proved himself to be totally unfit to be UK’s Prime Minister. We need him and his fellow Zionist conspirators to be tried and convicted of genocide and war crimes.

10.15p.m. Israel’s Gaza genocide and wider militarism should be regarded as mostly a joint venture between United States, United Kingdom and Israel. The parties cannot be distinguished. In UK current Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Foreign Secretary David Lammy – who very recently claimed that it was not a genocide – are every bit as guilty of war crimes as the Israelis.

British bases in Cyprus aid the Israeli war effort against the people’s will

CHARIS PASHIAS, general secretary of the Cyprus Peace Council, has called for the dismantling of British bases in Cyprus, which are being used to aid Israeli genocide against the wishes of a majority of Cypriots.

In an exclusive interview, he told the Morning Star: “Cyprus is a living example of how military bases do not solve problems, do not provide stability and security, but instead exacerbate militarisation and permanently increase tension.

“In the most blatant way in the last year, the US and Britain have turned Cyprus into a launch pad for war against the peoples of the region.”

Revealing press reports indicate that US war materials have been transferred from the military base in Akrotiri to support the Israeli army’s operations in the Gaza Strip.

Frequent air missions have been carried out from Cyprus over the Gaza Strip and in Lebanon, informing the Israeli army of the location of possible bombing targets. Air strikes were carried out in Yemen using the military base in Akrotiri.

“We also know that the Israeli army, under the framework of military co-operation with Cyprus, carried out exercises on the territory of Cyprus, testing a similar operation that they executed afterwards in Gaza,” Pashias added.
