  • At least 4 killed as Israeli forces strike Gaza by air and sea, despite ceasefire

    Israeli forces killed at least four Palestinians on Sunday in airstrikes and gunfire in the Gaza Strip, in fresh violations of a ceasefire agreement in effect since October, medical sources told Anadolu.

    The sources said the bodies of two Palestinians arrived at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis after they were targeted by an Israeli drone strike in the Bani Suheila area east of the southern city, Anadolu reports.

    Anadolu correspondent, citing eyewitnesses, said the two were killed in areas still under Israeli military occupation, despite the ceasefire arrangement.

    In Gaza City, Israeli forces shot and killed a Palestinian in an area they had previously withdrawn from under the ceasefire agreement in the Tuffah neighborhood, medical sources said.

    The sources also said the body of a 31-year-old man arrived at Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest.

    In central Gaza, another Palestinian was killed, and four others were wounded after an Israeli drone fired a missile at a group of workers east of the Maghazi refugee camp, according to medical officials.

    Earlier Sunday, Israeli forces carried out airstrikes, artillery shelling, and naval fire across multiple areas of the Gaza Strip, in continued violations of the ceasefire deal.

    Israeli warplanes launched an airstrike southwest of the southern city of Rafah, while another aerial attack targeted areas east of the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza, witnesses said.

    Israeli artillery also shelled eastern parts of Gaza City, including the Tuffah and Zeitoun neighborhoods, accompanied by gunfire from military vehicles positioned nearby, they added.

    In northern Gaza, Israeli aircraft carried out airstrikes and demolition operations targeting buildings east of Jabalia and Beit Lahia, alongside artillery fire, according to local sources.

    The areas struck in the north and east of the enclave remain under Israeli military control under the ceasefire arrangement.

    Israeli naval vessels also fired several shells toward coastal areas in northern Gaza, locations from which Israeli forces had withdrawn under the truce, witnesses added.

    The Israeli army has killed more than 71,000 people, most of them women and children, and injured over 171,000 others in a brutal offensive since October 2023 that has left the Gaza Strip in ruins.

    Despite the ceasefire, Israeli attacks have continued, killing 442 Palestinians and injuring over 1,200 others, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.

    The US-based non-profit Foreign Press Association on Tuesday expressed “profound disappointment” with the Israeli government for continuing to bar unrestricted international media access to the Gaza Strip, despite a ceasefire being in place, Anadolu reports.

    “Instead of presenting a plan for allowing journalists into Gaza independently and letting us work alongside our brave Palestinian colleagues, the government has decided once again to lock us out,” the association of US-based foreign correspondents said in a statement. “This comes even when a ceasefire is now in place.”

    Israeli authorities have restricted independent access for international journalists to Gaza since the war began in 2023, allowing only a limited number of reporters to enter under military escort on a case-by-case basis.

    According to Israeli media, the government told the Supreme Court on Sunday that the ban should remain in effect due to what it described as “security risks.”

    The FPA said it plans to submit a “robust response” to the court in the coming days.

    “The FPA is confident that the court will provide justice in light of the continuous infringement of the fundamental principles of freedom of speech, the public’s right to know and free press,” said the statement.

    In early December 2025, Gaza’s government media office said 257 Palestinian journalists had been killed during the Israeli genocide on Gaza that began on Oct. 8, 2023, and lasted for two years until a ceasefire agreement took effect in October 2025.

    Since the ceasefire agreement came into effect, the Israeli army has committed hundreds of violations, killing 420 Palestinians and wounding 1,184 others, according to the Health Ministry.

    The ceasefire halted Israel’s two-year war that killed nearly 71,400 Palestinians, most of them women and children, injured more than 171,200 others, and left the enclave in ruins.

  • Egypt, Russia stress need to sustain Gaza ceasefire agreement

    The top diplomats of Egypt and Russia stressed Friday the importance of implementing the Gaza ceasefire agreement and ensuring its sustainability amid continued Israeli violations, Anadolu Agency reports.

    Addressing a joint press conference held in Cairo, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty said Egypt is exerting intensive efforts to stabilize the ceasefire and ensure the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza, emphasizing the need to implement UN Security Council Resolution 2803, as well as the need to reopen the Rafah crossing in both directions.

    He also highlighted the depth of Egyptian-Russian relations across various fields, noting that he discussed with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, the strategic partnership between Cairo and Moscow and ways to increase bilateral trade.

    They also discussed the situation in Sudan and efforts to de-escalate tensions in the region, according to Egypt’s state-run Al-Qahera News channel.

    Lavrov, for his part, said the trade exchange with Egypt has increased by more than 12% recently, affirming that the two countries share common views on many international issues.

    Lavrov added that diplomatic efforts must continue to ensure the sustainability of the Gaza ceasefire, stressing the need to work toward a two-state solution and calm the situation in the West Bank, according to Al-Qahera News.

    He also praised Egypt’s role and its mediation between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency, in addition to what he described as Cairo’s “balanced” position on the Ukraine crisis, saying a settlement is possible “once the root causes are removed.”

    Lavrov is visiting Egypt to participate in the second ministerial meeting of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum on Friday and Saturday, with the participation of more than 50 African countries, and heads of regional organizations.

  • White House sent ‘stern’ warning to Netanyahu over Gaza ceasefire violation: Report

    The White House sent “stern” private messages to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stressing that an Israeli strike in Gaza constituted a violation of the ceasefire agreement brokered by President Donald Trump, Anadolu Agency reported on Monday.

    Sources speaking to Axios said the message followed Israel’s killing of Raed Saad, the deputy commander of Hamas’ military wing, in a strike in Gaza City over the weekend that killed four people in total.

    According to the report, a senior US official said the White House message to Netanyahu was, “If you want to ruin your reputation and show that you don’t abide by agreements be our guest, but we won’t allow you to ruin President Trump’s reputation after he brokered the deal in Gaza.”

    US officials reportedly said the Israeli government did not notify or consult Washington ahead of the attack.

    In a televised speech, Hamas chief in Gaza Khalil al-Hayya confirmed that Saad lost his life in the Israeli attack.

    Saad was the target of several Israeli assassination attempts until he lost his life in an airstrike on Saturday.

    The attack came despite a ceasefire agreement that took effect in Gaza on Oct. 10.

    The Israeli army has repeatedly violated the ceasefire, killing at least 391 Palestinians and injuring 1,063 others since the deal.

    Israel has killed more than 70,600 people, mostly women and children, and injured over 171,100 others in attacks in Gaza since October 2023, which have continued despite the truce.

  • Hamas warns of ceasefire collapse as Israel continues to target its trapped fighters in Rafah

    The crisis of the trapped combatant constitutes one of 393 Israeli violations of the truce agreement, which came into effect on October 10.

    Hamas warned in a statement issued on Wednesday, November 26, that Israel’s killing and arresting of its resistance fighters, who have been trapped in tunnels in Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip for weeks, would jeopardize the ceasefire deal.

    The Palestinian resistance movement considered the pursuit of the trapped fighters a “blatant violation” of the US-brokered ceasefire deal.

    Hamas also clarified that it “made great efforts during the past month with different political leaders and mediators to solve the problem of the fighters, and secure their return to their homes by providing certain ideas and mechanisms” to address the crisis.

    The statement was released one day after the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) announced that it killed four Hamas fighters and arrested two others, while they were getting out from underground tunnels in Rafah, within the Israeli-controlled “yellow-line” zone.

    It is worth noting that around 200 fighters affiliated with Hamas have been trapped in Rafah since the ceasefire deal came into force on October 10. This is despite the fact  that the Palestinian group as well as mediators have demanded a safe passage for the fighters to areas inside Gaza not controlled by Israel as part of the agreement.

    On Sunday, November 30, family sources confirmed that Abdallah Hamad, who is the son of Ghazi Hamad, a senior Hamas official and member of the movement’s negotiation delegation, was among the trapped Al-Qassam fighters that were killed by the IOF in Rafah.

    Moreover, the IOF announced in a statement that same day that it has killed over 40 of those fighters inside the tunnels during the past week, but Hamas has not confirmed the claim yet. The Israeli military further stated that it will intensify efforts to demolish the remaining tunnels in eastern Rafah and eliminate the trapped combatants therein.

    The pursuit of Hamas combatants, one of over 393 Israeli violations

    Israel’s continued pursuit of Hamas fighters constitutes one of at least 393 reported Israeli violations since the ceasefire took effect.

    United Nations rapporteurs warned in a statement issued on Monday, November 24, that Israel’s flagrant infringements of the truce agreement resulted in the killing of 339 Palestinians, including more than 70 children, and the injuring over 870 others.

    As Israeli violations continued in the days that followed the statement, the death toll increased to 352 based on the latest information provided by medical sources in Gaza, on Thursday, November 27.

    These sources added that the tally of Palestinian fatalities since Israel’s genocidal aggression on Gaza began on October 7, 2023, has risen to 69,799, most of them children and women.

    Israel responds to Hamas’s warning by offering a surrender proposal

    An Israeli official was quoted by local media on Thursday, declaring that his government had sent a proposal to Hamas through mediators last week, suggesting that the trapped combatants should hand themselves to the Israeli authorities if they want to avoid being killed.

    Arab and Palestinian sources: “no progress is visible” in implementing phase two of Gaza ceasefire

    Israeli media reports surfaced on Thursday, regarding talks on the implementation of phase two of the Gaza ceasefire deal.

    Israeli newspaper Haaretz cited Arab and Palestinian sources familiar with the negotiations, saying that no progress in the talks is visible as Hamas refuses to disarm before Israel withdraws from Gaza and a detailed plan to hand over its weapons is brought forward.

    Meanwhile, Israeli Channel 14 said it was told by an official at the US-led Civil-Military Coordination Center (CMCC) for Gaza that first troops of the International Stabilization Force (ISF) are expected to arrive in Gaza next January.

    The channel added that the “disarmament process” in the war-torn strip will be completed by the end of April.
