A report by Israeli newspaper Maariv examined operations carried out by the Lebanese group Hezbollah against Israeli forces using drones, particularly an attack near Rosh Hanikra.

Hezbollah published footage of a drone strike targeting the Rosh Hanikra tourist site at the weekend, which wounded four Israelis, one of them critically.

The newspaper said Hezbollah was aware that fibre-optic-guided drones represented a weak point in the Israeli air defence systems.

It added that the use of such drones over the border area and northern settlements was intended to increase the psychological impact of the attacks beyond the physical damage they may cause.

According to the report, Hezbollah fighters deliberately target exposed personnel in the area with drones rather than buildings or armoured vehicles in order to maximise the impact of the attacks.

Hezbollah launched an explosive-laden drone on Thursday which fell inside Israeli territory near the Lebanese border.

The Galilee Medical Centre said four injured people had arrived at its emergency department, including two in serious condition and one moderately injured. It added that the condition of one of the seriously injured had deteriorated significantly and he was now in critical condition.
