Palestinians inspect the ruins a day after an Israeli strike on a building in Gaza City, November 20, 2025
ISRAEL has broken the Gaza truce nearly 500 times in 44 days, killing hundreds, according to Palestinians.
The Gaza government Media Office said today that Israel must be held fully responsible for the humanitarian and security implications for its repeated ceasefire violations.
The Palestinians said that the Israelis have broken the so-called ceasefire 497 times since it came into force on October 10, killing 342 people, with children, women and the elderly accounting for the majority of the victims.
The Gaza Media Office said: “We condemn in the strongest terms the continued serious and systematic violations of the ceasefire agreement by the Israeli occupation authorities.
“These violations constitute a flagrant breach of international humanitarian law and the humanitarian protocol attached to the agreement.”
The Israelis continued their attacks over the weekend, with at least 24 Palestinians killed and another 54 wounded by Israeli forces on Saturday.

LEADING Scottish medics have joined more than 500 healthcare professionals from across Britain demanding the Prime Minister act to secure the release of a Palestinian doctor and his colleagues abducted by Israeli forces.
Head of Gaza’s Kamal Adwan Hospital Dr Abu Safiya was taken from its ruins in December 2024 and has since been held with peers without charge in conditions human rights lawyers have described as inhumane.
In an open letter to Sir Keir Starmer, the medics argue that the situation has become a “matter of life and death,” with the Israeli state not only facing accusations of organ harvesting from deceased detainees, but proposals currently before the Knesset which would permit the death penalty for Palestinians convicted of terrorism charges in its military courts.

Police officers detain protesters during the “Lift the Ban” demonstration organized by the civil action and campaign group Defend Our Juries ahead of a judicial review into the decision to designate the Palestine Action group as a terrorist organization at Tavistock Square in London, United Kingdom, on November 22, 2025. At least 90 protesters were arrested at a London demonstration in support of the banned activist group, Palestine Action, police said Saturday, Anadolu reports.
The arrests as of 1800GMT are in relation to the protest organized by Defend Our Juries in support of the “proscribed terrorist organisation Palestine Action,” Metropolitan Police said in a statement.
It added that the protest concluded and those involved have left the area.
Protesters gathered in Tavistock Square, where demonstrators carried Palestinian flags and signs while chanting pro-Palestine slogans.
Some of the banners read: “I oppose genocide, I support Palestine Action.”
The Defend Our Juries group wrote on the US social media platform X that police instantly started arresting protestors for silently holding signs that it said opposed genocide and the Palestine Action ban.
“Today’s protest is happening in Tavistock Square, London — known as the peace gardens with anti-war memorials. Lift the ban,” it added.
Palestine Action was banned in July under the UK’s Terrorism Act, a decision that has led to the arrests of hundreds of pro-Palestinian protesters for holding signs or showing support for the group.
The new protests come ahead of and during the judicial review set to be heard from Nov. 25 to 27, which may see Palestine Action’s proscription as a terror organization overturned.
Since October 2023, the Israeli army has killed nearly 70,000 victims in Gaza, primarily women and children, injured more than 170,800, and reduced the enclave to rubble. The onslaught came to a halt under a ceasefire deal that took effect Oct. 10.
The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on Gaza.

Israeli public broadcaster sources reported on Monday evening that security negotiations between Israel and Syria have hit a dead end, with widening differences between Damascus’s demands and Tel Aviv’s conditions.
According to the sources, Israel rejected Syrian President Ahmad Al-Sharaa’s request to withdraw its forces from all areas it occupied following the fall of Bashar Al-Assad’s government on 8 December 2024.
They added that Tel Aviv will only withdraw as part of a comprehensive peace agreement, not through a limited security deal, which does not appear feasible at present.
Both sides had been expected to sign a US-brokered security agreement during last September’s UN General Assembly meetings, but media reports indicated the talks broke down at the last moment.
Israeli security sources said disagreements arose during meetings between Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shaibani and Israeli Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer. The disputes focused on Syria’s demands for Israel to return to the lines set by the 1974 disengagement agreement, stop violating Syrian airspace, and withdraw from the areas occupied by Israel in late 2024.

Government Spokesperson Stefan Kornelius of Germany speaks to press during the press meeting of German government spokespersons in Berlin, Germany on October 06, 2025. [Halil Sağırkaya – Anadolu Agency]
Germany announced Monday it will lift restrictions on arms exports to Israel, citing a “stabilized ceasefire” in Gaza and recent diplomatic progress in the region, Anadolu reports.
The decision takes effect on Nov. 24 and returns the country to case-by-case review of arms export applications to Israel, government spokesman Stefan Kornelius told the German press agency DPA.
Kornelius said the government based its decision on the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas that has held since Oct. 10 and has stabilized in recent weeks. He also pointed to efforts toward a sustainable peace and increased humanitarian aid in Gaza.
Chancellor Friedrich Merz ordered the restrictions on Aug. 8, halting approval of arms exports that could be used in the Gaza war. The decision came in response to Israel’s announcement of a full-scale ground offensive and the stopping of aid deliveries into Gaza.
Germany’s arms exports to Israel have long been contentious and the subject of legal challenges by rights groups and Gaza residents. The European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights (ECCHR), which supported plaintiffs in their legal action, has repeatedly said that Berlin’s authorization of weapons exports to Israel violated international agreements Germany signed, including the Geneva Convention on the prevention and punishment of the crime of genocide.
