Israeli warplanes launched a series of airstrikes on southern Lebanon on Monday, targeting the town of Qantara and the outskirts of Tibnin, while artillery shelling struck the ancient citadel of Tyre, a site listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage site.

According to the Lebanese National News Agency, the citadel area includes the shrine and tomb of Prophet Simeon the Just, raising concerns over damage to cultural and historical heritage.

Israeli drones and artillery also targeted multiple towns and villages across southern Lebanon, amid continued escalation.

An earlier airstrike on the town of Bustan resulted in the deaths of several Syrian workers, while another strike on Nabatieh al-Fawqa killed a young man.

Israeli air operations have also extended to the southern suburbs of Beirut and areas in southeastern and northern Lebanon, alongside a ground incursion that began in mid-March.

The escalation follows ongoing hostilities since 2nd March, after Hezbollah launched attacks on Israeli-controlled areas in response to US and Israeli strikes on Iran on 28th February.

Israeli airstrikes continue across Lebanon, contributing to rising casualties and increasing concerns over further regional escalation.

The mass killings tainted the supposedly joyful occasion in Gaza with blood, and replaced celebrations with funerals.

Over 60 Palestinians were killed in multiple Israeli airstrikes that rocked different parts of the Gaza strip, on Sunday, March 30, which also marked the first day of Eid Al-Fitr holiday.

The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) intensified their aerial attacks on the besieged enclave in the early hours of Sunday and throughout the day. However, hundreds of thousands of people in Gaza gathered to perform Eid prayers atop the rubble of demolished mosques, in a clear message to the world that their will to survive is greater than Israel’s destruction.

Israel deliberately targeted rescue teams in Rafah

The first day of Eid saw another incident of tragedy for the people of Gaza, after the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) announced that it retrieved the bodies of 14 aid workers in Rafah, southern Gaza. The 14 included eight PRCS medics, five staff members of the Palestinian Civil Defense agency, and an employee working with a UN agency.

The recovery of the bodies was announced six days after the PRCS had lost contact with the rescue teams. The release of satellite images exclusively obtained by Al Jazeera demonstrated that the IOF destroyed at least five rescue vehicles belonging to the PRCS and the Civil Defense, who were on a humanitarian mission in Tel al-Sultan neighborhood in Rafah. The IOF did so after they targeted the teams of both organizations, which included 15 volunteers.

Mourning its executed staff, the PRCS said in a statement that “they were targeted by the Israeli occupation forces while performing their humanitarian duties as they were heading to the Hashashin area of Rafah to provide first aid to a number of people injured by Israeli shelling in the area.” The organization added that a ninth medic remains missing.

The PRCS called the massacre a “tragedy” not only for the organization “but also for humanitarian work and humanity.” Emphasizing that the incident was a deliberate execution the PRCS said that the rescue teams were targeted by the IOF “despite the protected status of their mission and the Red Crescent emblem.”

It also pointed out that the incident “can only be considered a war crime punishable under international humanitarian law, which the occupation continues to violate before the eyes of the entire world.”

Meanwhile, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) expressed its outrage at the deaths of eight medics from the PRCS.

The IFRC stressed that when the medics were killed, their ambulance vehicle was “clearly marked” and they were wearing emblems that “should have protected them.”

“I am heartbroken. These dedicated ambulance workers were responding to wounded people. They were humanitarians. They wore emblems that should have protected them; their ambulances were clearly marked. They should have returned to their families; they did not.” IFRC Secretary General Jagan Chapagain stated.

“Even in the most complex conflict zones, there are rules. These rules of International Humanitarian Law could not be clearer – civilians must be protected; humanitarians must be protected. Health services must be protected.” He added.

Experiencing issues with this image not appearing. I suspect because it's so critical of Zionist Keir Starmer's support of and complicity in Israel's genocides.
Genocide denier and Current UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer is quoted that he supports Zionism without qualification. He also confirms that UK air force support has been essential in Israel’s mass-murdering genocide. It has been 15 days since Israeli Occupation Forces started their continuous bombings of Gaza following Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, threatening a complete genocide of Palestinians living there

In what has been described as the most intensive bombing of the besieged Palestinian territory since October 7, at least 400 more people were killed in Israel’s indiscriminate strikes in Gaza strip on Sunday October 22.

Israel bombings inside Gaza continued on Monday as well with over 60 people killed in overnight attacks alone.

The Israeli military claimed on Monday that it bombed over 300 targets in Gaza on Sunday. Their aircrafts continued to target residential areas in Khan Younis, Al-Fallujah, and other localities killing civilians including children, on the 15th day since the Palestinian resistance movements launched Operation Al-Aqsa Flood.

Israeli warplanes targeted densely populated Jabalia refugee camp where at least 30 people were killed, as well as other localities close to the Al-Shifa and Al-Quds hospitals.

Footage released by the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) on Monday clearly shows Israeli bombing in the vicinity of the Al-Quds hospital.

These hospitals are overcrowded with wounded and in danger of being bombed like Al-Ahli Arab hospital last week. Close to 500 Palestinians were killed when Israel bombed it on October 17.

According to the Gaza Ministry of Health more than 5,000 Gazans have been killed in the Israeli bombings so far, of those over 2,000 were children. More than 15,000 people have been wounded in these attacks and over a million have been displaced.

Israel has also killed over 95 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and wounded over 1,600 of them in the last 15 days. Israeli occupation forces arrested hundreds of Palestinians in different raids in the occupied West Bank on Sunday as well.

The Israeli blockade on food, fuel and medicine supplies to Gaza continued on its 15th day and despite the small number of humanitarian aid trucks reaching the territory through Egypt’s Rafah border since Saturday there is an urgent need for the full resumption of the free transit of these supplies.

Lack of fuel and medical supplies have made around 10 hospitals in Gaza go out of service, increasing pressures on the remaining hospitals and endangering hundreds of lives including newborn babies.

Philippe Lazzarini, head of United Nations Relief and Work Agency (UNRWA) warned on Monday that, “in three days UNRWA will run out of fuel, critical for our humanitarian response across the Gaza strip.”

Lazzarini stated that without fuel it will be difficult to run the hospitals and supply basic amenities including food to the affected people. UNRWA runs several hospitals and also shelters over 500,000 Palestinians displaced due to Israeli bombings in Gaza.

51 health workers have also been killed in airstrikes since October 7 and over 87 others have been injured.

Meanwhile, China’s special envoy to the Middle East, who is currently touring the region, said on Monday that his country is willing to do whatever it takes to start a dialogue to explore an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. He stated that the situation in Gaza is very serious and if no steps were taken to achieve a ceasefire now there is a possibility of a region-wide escalation.

In the meanwhile, Israel is already bombing Lebanon targeting Hezbollah, which has supported the actions of the Palestinian resistance during Al-Aqsa Flood and targeted positions of the Israeli army near the Lebanese border.
