Israel on Monday rejected the findings of a UN-mandated investigative commission accusing it of committing crimes against humanity, including extermination, against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and continuing to commit genocide in the Gaza Strip.
In a statement, the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs dismissed the commission’s report as “political propaganda,” rejecting its conclusions concerning Israeli actions in the Palestinian territories.
“This is not a human rights report, but a document of political propaganda detached from reality,” the ministry said.
It accused the commission of seeking to “undermine Israel’s right to self-defence, delegitimise the Jewish state, and legitimise jihadist terrorism against its citizens.”
The Israeli response followed the commission’s findings concerning violations against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and Gaza, including its accusation that Israel has committed crimes against humanity and continues to carry out genocide in the Gaza Strip.
