The first film on Wikileaks founder Julian Assange may screen this weekend at the Toronto International Film Festival, but the trailer has just been released for all to view.
“Underground: The Julian Assange Story” follows Assange before he was a household name, telling the story of the founder during his years as a teen hacker, which ultimately led to the creation of the leaked document site.
The film is based on Suelette Drefyfus‘ 1997 novel Underground: Tales of Hacking, Madness And Obsession On The Electronic Frontier.
Technically, the film is an Australian television movie that will air in the country next month. However, NBCUniversal International will release the made-for-TV movie worldwide.
