Boris Johnson’s water cannon farce reveals why he will never be prime minister by Adam Bienkov

“…

The inspectors found the weapons have as little as two years’ operational life left before they have to be turned into scrap. Recurrent problems with the pump and the “critical failure” of the tank would be hugely costly to repair and there could be significant problems finding spare parts for vehicles that are now at the end of their operational life. Day-to-day operation and maintenance of the weapons would also be complicated by the lack of any manuals available in English. Meanwhile the time needed to make essential repairs could leave the weapons out of service for significant periods of time.

Bullingdon Tory idiot Boris Johnson

In short, the Home Office found the weapons to be seriously dangerous, hugely difficult and expensive to maintain and operate, and shortly in need of a trip to the scrap yard.

Given the majority of these problems were public knowledge in Germany before Johnson agreed to buy the weapons, it is incredible that he still went ahead anyway. It is especially baffling given that he was repeatedly warned against buying the weapons, not just by his opponents, but by his own former policing deputy and his own party on the London Assembly. Last year, when Johnson pushed ahead with their purchase anyway, a senior member of his City Hall team told me that Boris would “live to regret” his decision. How right they were.

In fact, Johnson’s more sensible advisers aside, the only people to have come out of this sorry saga well are the negotiators of the German police force. The ingenuity and financial sense of the Germans has been somewhat called into question in recent weeks. However, they can hardly be faulted for their prudent management of this particular deal. It is difficult at the best of times to dispose of obsolete and life-threatening military hardware. But for the Germans to get a foreign politician to actually pay 300,000 euros for the privilege of disposing of the defunct weapons for them was a particularly impressive feat.

Theresa May, you either hear me or you don’t sign it

Theresa May, Home Secretary

I know it doesn’t have to be you – it can be some Chief Constable

but I’ll hold you responsible

because as Home Secretary,

you are responsible

You’re either going to lift this RIPA order on me

[actually it may be many RIPA orders: They tend to say according to RIPA you will do this and not tell anyone under threat of serious imprisonment. RIPA is about don’t tell anyone (even your solicitor) or you’ll be imprisoned. So there may be many RIPA orders. If I get one I’ll publish it.]

OR

account for it

OK?

ed: and I suggest that RIPA orders are so anti-democratic, why not publish them? I would really not be surprised if RIPA orders have been for political rather than any other purpose. Time to publish them? You could always pretend that they were leaked ..

The one on my ISP is … Don’t let him have his stats – don’t let him know how many people visit his website. How does that serve any useful purpose other than hit the political activist? What else can it achieve?

It’s weird isn’t it? I think that it is right that I should be given the opportunity to respond to the charges made against me. Shouldn’t I have the opportunity to defend myself against these charges made against me? Apparently not, lucky I don’t live in Pak.

Why is there so much hostility to me? There is so much hostility to me because I have been a successful political activist. The problem is that for invisible and unaccountable processes unknown to me where I have no opportunity to represent myself to seek to silence me is not appropriate for a democratic society.

I call you Fascist. I call you Fascist not only for silencing dissent but for repressing any political opposition.

Theresa May, The Tory, Lib-Tory coalition you lift this RIPA political repression immediately. Now.

You have to justify it anyway and you have to justify why it continues. Now and advise everyone that these RIPA orders are lifted NOW, not tomorrow. NOW.

You cancel these RIPA orders now. Theresa May, Home Secretary you lift these RIPA orders now because political activism is legitimate activity. Now.

Theresa May, Home Secretary, You have to recognise my absolute right to express myself. I am a political activist and I have an absolute right to criticise you and your government.

This is how it’s going to be. You are not going to interfere with my right to express myself in any way. Got it? If you are going to sign these RIPA orders or allow some subordinates to do it, then you are going to allow me the opportunity to challenge it. Got it?

That’s the least I expect from a democratic society.

I know fully well that my home has been bugged, that a car I have often use of has been bugged and that an occasional friend of mine’s home has been been bugged. I consider that that’s excessively unreasonable and out of order. I’m sure that any concerned newspaper could confirm this – they’re still going to be there. Any newspapers interested?

I am actually concerned about govt spying even before all this started – back in 2000/1 or so … not against me even. There may even be evidence of that.

Terrorism BS

Spread the love

We’ve had two or three weeks of terrorism propaganda in UK corporate media just recently – and it’s been total BS.

It started with the Metropolitan Police warning UK citizens that they would be terrrists if they watched the supposed beheading of James Foley. If you’re following the news then you’re a terrrist? Actually, it’s probably more like if you’re able to use the internet, then you’re a terrrist.

Well come on then, I’ve watched it and am still sharing it on bittorrent. I’m not promoting it, it’s set to default upload of 1.25 and it hasn’t reached there in weeks. As soon as I post this I will not be doing my share back (because it’s been reached). I am aware that bittorrent users can be tracked – I appreciate that authorities (spooks) can clearly see my bittorrent activity. It’s very amateur and there’s not an actual beheading in the video.

That was a ramping-up of terrrorism BS (propoganda).

Much more recently – Friday – we’ve had the terrrosim BS alert has increased to be very scared because a terrorist attack is going to happen. It’s such BS because if you analyse the statements of David Cameron and Theresa May there is no intelligence to back it up – It is a political move.

There is no heightened threat of terrrism. People from UK have always gone to engage in wars abroad. You think that they’re going to have the same BS effect in UK – that the people of Croydon have been forced out of their homes and into the mountains of Surrey, are dying from exposure and are relying on humanitarian aid? Get real please.

Do you really accept that tihs that you’re fed?

My  best guess is that USUK are going to go heavy into Syria pretending to go after so-called Isis but actually having that as a secondary purpose.

Two or three weeks ago so-called Isis were USUK allies because they were – together with al the ones using chemical weapons – fighting Syria.

While there’s a heightened terror alert that’s just political BS. Hey be really afraid – you have to cross the road tomorrow.

UK politics review – the lurch towards Fascism

Spread the love

UK political events combine into a lurch towards Fascism.

The gagging law is passed. Called the Transparency of Lobbying Bill, Non-party Campaigning and Trade Union Administration Act it has nothing to do with transparency of lobbying and everything to do with silencing the government’s critics and opponents. It’s a huge blow against trade unions and other campaigning groups like 38degrees and charities. The Conservative-pretendLiberal coalition have attacked democracy by passing this law.

Fascism is described by it’s creator Benito Mussolini as corporatism – the unification of corporations and government. This is entirely the action that the gagging law continues to excuse. Fascism is right-wing authoritarianism typified by attacks on trade unions and political opponents.

Home secretary Theresa May wants to strip suspected terrorists of their nationality and leave them stateless. This is to be done through the use of secret courts. Theresa May has previously stripped dual-nationals of UK nationality so that they could then be renditioned, etc.

This is intended to be done to suspected terrorists. If there was any evidence against them they would be terrorists. Political activists and dissidents are suspected terrorists. Terrorism as defined in UK law is not necessarily anything to do with explosives or arms or similar threats. Once again the government is seen to be silencing it’s critics and opponents.

Madman and London Mayor Boris Johnson wants police to use water cannon and “get medieval” on protesters. The riots of 2011 were sparked by the police murder of Mark Duggan.

Mark Duggan: profile of Tottenham police shooting victim

later edit: Home Secretary Theresa May’s intention is to deprive ‘naturalised’ subjects i.e. from abroad and granted UK status, of UK nationality. It’s still disproportionate since it only needs suspicion rather than any evidence and the powers are bound to be extended later. Politicians love terrorism because it gives them cover for Fascist laws.

Although reported almost universally as suspected terrorists it is actually “… the Secretary of State is satisfied that the deprivation is conducive to the public good because the person, while having that citizenship status, has conducted him or herself in a manner which is seriously prejudicial to the vital interests of the United Kingdom, any of the Islands, or any British overseas territory.” [source] That seems far wider than suspected terrorists.
