82% of Gaza buildings damaged in Israeli genocide, Palestinian statistics agency says

Around 82% of buildings in the Gaza Strip have been damaged as a result of Israel’s genocide since Oct. 8, 2023, the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) said Monday, Anadolu reports.
The agency said in a statement marking World Habitat Day that around 201,290 buildings in Gaza had been damaged, representing about 82% of all buildings in the enclave, according to figures through June 16, 2026.
It explained that 134,422 buildings were completely destroyed, while 13,848 sustained severe damage and around 328,627 housing units were damaged.
Since Oct. 8, 2023, Israel’s genocidal war in Gaza has killed more than 74,000 Palestinians and injured over 175,000 others, and destroyed around 90% of the enclave’s infrastructure.
The destruction has also affected water and wastewater infrastructure, around 90% of which had been damaged or destroyed as of the first half of 2026, PCBS said.
The agency said that 82% of households in Gaza face water insecurity, while around 70% receive only about six liters (1.6 gallons) of water per person per day.

Despite a ceasefire in effect since Oct. 10, 2025, Israeli attacks have killed 1,445 Palestinians and injured 5,072 others, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry.
Israel also continues to restrict the entry of agreed quantities of food, medicine, medical supplies, shelter materials and prefabricated homes into Gaza, where around 2.4 million Palestinians live, including 2.15 million displaced people, according to the agency.
In the occupied West Bank, Israeli attacks and home demolitions have continued since the beginning of the year alongside increased occupier attacks, land seizures and displacement, PCBS said.
Citing figures from the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission, the agency said Israeli authorities carried out around 341 demolition operations during the first half of 2026.
The operations resulted in the demolition of 740 Palestinian structures, while Israeli authorities issued 254 demolition notices on the grounds of lacking permits, it said.
Since the start of the Gaza war in October 2023, the Israeli army and occupiers have intensified attacks in the West Bank, involving killings, arrests, displacement, home demolitions, land leveling and illegal settlement expansion.

Iran is reviewing the US response to a proposal submitted by Tehran and is preparing for various possible scenarios, an Iranian deputy foreign minister said on Sunday.
The official said Iran was closely monitoring developments surrounding its proposal and Washington’s response, according to Iran’s Tasnim News Agency.
He added that Tehran remained prepared to deal with different potential scenarios as diplomatic efforts continued with the aim of reaching understandings between Iran and the United States.
The remarks come as attention remains focused on the outcome of negotiations between Washington and Tehran and their potential implications for relations between the two countries and developments in the region.

Israel bars British Green Party leader from entering country

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar on Sunday decided to bar British Green Party leader Zack Polanski from entering Israel, in response to his party adopting a resolution declaring Zionism a form of racism.
The Israeli Foreign Ministry said in a statement on X that Sa’ar had decided “to declare Green Party leader Zack Polanski barred from entering Israel” after his party adopted the resolution, adding that the decision was made in coordination with the relevant Israeli authorities.
Earlier on Sunday, the Green Party adopted the resolution at its conference in Brighton, with 56 per cent voting in favour and 44 per cent against, describing Zionism as a “racist ideology”.
With the adoption of the motion, describing Zionism as a “racist movement” became part of the party’s official policy.

According to the BBC, the resolution calls for a single Palestinian state across all of historic Palestine, where everyone, including Jews, would have equal rights, with no reference to Israel continuing as a separate state or to a two-state solution.
“Today, the Green Party in Britain adopted a resolution equating Zionism with racism, legitimising armed struggle against Israel, and calling for the establishment of a Palestinian state “from the river to the sea” – meaning the destruction of the State of Israel,” the Israeli Foreign Ministry said.
It also claimed that “the resolution constitutes a clear antisemitic text according to the IHRA definition, as it denies the Jewish people’s right to self-determination.”

Israel ‘progressively asphyxiating’ Gaza, continues genocide: Doctors Without Borders

Doctors Without Borders (MSF) said on Monday that Israel was continuing its genocide in Gaza and was “progressively asphyxiating” the region, urging governments to take immediate action, Anadolu reports.
In a statement, MSF said the conditions for the people’s survival were being “systematically destroyed” through sustained violence, “deliberate” blockade of essential supplies and the destruction of healtcare as well as infrastructure.
“In the past year, the physical trapping of people in Gaza has been made increasingly definitive by the establishment of Israel’s Yellow Line,” the French medical charity said.
Recalling that it was originally presented as temporary, MSF noted that the line is now reinforced by military positions, berms and ongoing demolitions while it has continued to move west, “squeezing people into a smaller and smaller area.”
MSF said people risk being shot by Israeli forces when approaching the area, while its teams continue to treat those wounded by gunfire nearby.
“The Yellow Line cannot be treated simply as a line on a map,” said Amande Bazerolle, MSF head of emergency response in Gaza. “It has become a mechanism of encirclement and ethnic cleansing, while cutting communities off from the infrastructure, healthcare, water and other essentials they need to survive.”
MSF said violence was not only confined to the areas around the “Yellow Line,” reporting having treated over 1,200 cases of violent trauma across Gaza in June and July alone.

It recalled that MSF teams treated more than 200,000 trauma cases over the past three years while Israel’s military offensive killed over 74,000 people.
The organization said overcrowding and limited access to clean water, sanitation, shelter and healthcare are contributing to the spread of disease. Its teams also treated over 11,000 skin disease cases and 1,500 chickenpox cases in June and July.
It also pointed to the dramatic deterioration of access to healthcare over the past three years as hospitals run out of basic supplies and patients unable to access essential medicines and treatment.
“Restrictions on essential supplies, such as engine oil and spare parts, are also crippling the infrastructure needed to keep hospitals, ambulances and water systems running, with generators already breaking down and water-trucking operations reduced,” the statement said.
It added that the crisis is not limited to Gaza as violent occupier attacks, military operation and raids on homes, displacements as well as home demolitions escalated rapidly across the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.
“It will take generations to recover from the harm that has already been done over the past three years, and in the preceding decades, while the excruciating consequences of Israel’s ongoing genocide are still being felt every day,” Bazerolle said.
She warned that Israel carried out destruction, displacement and deprivation “with impunity” while such practices became “normalised.”
“Governments must act now to ensure Israel stops the destruction and killing, prevents ethnic cleansing, and stops denying Palestinians the means of survival,” Bazerolle added.

‘More Performative Killing at Sea’: Another Trump Boat Strike Leaves 4 Dead

Condemning the “illegal campaign of extrajudicial killings” as “murder at sea,” Amnesty International USA asked, “Where is Congress to stop the horror?”
US President Donald Trump’s boat-bombing spree continued on Sunday despite condemnation from around the world, claiming four more lives and bringing the death toll from the 13-month campaign to at least 238.
Sharing a video of the strike, US Southern Command said on social media late Sunday that “under the direction of SOUTHCOM, Joint Task Force Western Hemisphere executed a lethal, kinetic strike on a go-fast vessel operating along established narco-trafficking routes in the Caribbean.”

“Confirmed intelligence revealed the vessel’s active involvement in narco-trafficking,” SOUTHCOM continued, without offering any evidence, as with at least 70 previous strikes since September 2025. “The operation killed four narco-terrorists.”
Citing a federal memo that it aims to keep concealed from the public, the Trump administration claims to be at war with drug cartels and that the killings in the Caribbean Sea and Pacific Ocean are justified. Legal experts and human rights advocates argue the bombings are at least war crimes, if not outright murder.
Sunday’s strike was the administration’s first confirmed boat bombing since Ben Saul, the United Nations special rapporteur on human rights and counterterrorism, said last month that even if the targeted vessels were engaged in drug trafficking, there are no “international legal rights to unilaterally use military force” to counter cartels.
After SOUTHCOM’s announcement, Gizmodo reporter Matt Novak declared, “We murdered four more people in a boat today.”
Brian Finucane, a former State Department legal adviser who now advises the US Program at the International Crisis Group, called it “more performative killing at sea.”

Highlighting the rising death toll from Trump’s “illegal campaign of extrajudicial killings, ie, murder at sea” initiative, Amnesty International USA asked, “Where is Congress to stop the horror?”
The Republican-controlled Congress has declined to pass war powers resolutions intended to stop the strikes—though the odds of passage could change if Democrats reclaim one or both chambers in next month’s midterm elections.
Trump’s bombing spree has apparently been not only illegal but ineffective. The Washington Post reported in July that a Drug Enforcement Administration analysis concluded that the boat-bombing campaign has not “reduced the amount of cocaine entering” the United States.
