Participants gathered in front of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) building to demand the protection of prisoner rights and their immediate release.

A solidarity demonstration took place on Monday, in Gaza to support Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails, Anadolu Agency reports.

The event aimed to highlight violations reported within the Israeli prison system.

Families of prisoners, health service officials, the Prisoners’ Committee, and representatives from national and Islamic groups attended the gathering.

Healthcare workers specifically protested the targeting of medical personnel.

They carried photographs of Palestinian doctors who were arrested by Israeli forces after being detained from hospitals.

Those in attendance called for international organizations to meet their legal and humanitarian responsibilities.

The groups demanded urgent intervention to stop violations in prisons and to secure the release of Palestinian detainees.

According to Palestinian data, more than 9,300 Palestinians are currently held in Israeli prisons, including at least 3,385 held in administrative detention without charge or trial.

Israel has sharply escalated its violations against Palestinian detainees, particularly those from Gaza, since the start of the war, including starvation, torture, sexual violence and systematic denial of medical care, rights groups said.

Israel has killed more than 71,000 people, mostly women and children, and injured over 170,000 others in attacks in Gaza since October 2023.

PEACE protesters joined demonstrations around the country this weekend, calling for an end to Britain’s complicity in the US war machine.

Solidarity groups, campaigners and union leaders led rallies on Saturday in Edinburgh, London and Leeds, where thousands chanted: “We know what we’re fighting for, not another endless war!”

They took aim at Britain’s alleged tacit and “active” support in the US attack on Venezuela at the start of the month, and the abduction of President Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores.

Deputy director of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC) Simon Foster said: “There is no doubt that Keir Starmer is a coward. But the truth is that Britain has not just been an appeaser of human rights abuses, it has long been an enthusiastic participant in these abuses itself.

“From the Balfour Declaration to the illegal invasion of Iraq, the UK, just as much as Trump, believes that they should be able to rule over people on the other side of the world who do not fall into line.

“The same politicians who have cheered on the Israeli genocide in Gaza are the same politicians who have failed to stand up to flagrant breaches of international law in Venezuela.”

Charlotte Head, who is accused of taking part in a break-in at Israeli defence firm, is called a ‘remarkable woman’ by her barrister

… Charlotte Head, 29, is on trial at Woolwich crown court, south-east London, accused of being involved in a “meticulously organised” protest at the Elbit Systems factory in Filton, near Bristol, on 6 August 2024.

… On Thursday in closing submissions, Head’s barrister, Rajiv Menon KC, detailed his client’s years of activism, including her work with refugees in Calais. He said the suffragettes were celebrated publicly for their heroism but in their time were accused of being “a threat to the social order” and “unladylike, feral, aggressive, violent” by MPs and in the mainstream press.

“The reality, of course, is very different,” Menon told the court. “The suffragettes were remarkable women from all walks of life united in their hope, their despair, their defiance and their dedication.

“Charlotte Head is also a remarkable woman and I say that without any reservation. This is not something that lawyers defending clients in criminal trials often say … we are taught to avoid the personal. But it must be said in this case, not only because it is true but also because it is relevant.”

Menon described Elbit Systems, of which Elbit Systems UK is a subsidiary, as a “dreadful company” that “has played a critical role in the killing of tens of thousands of Palestinians” but is “wined and dined” in the corridors of power.

Israeli Heritage Minister Amichai Eliyahu has revealed that Israeli agents are currently active in Iran.

In an interview with Israel’s army radio, Eliyahu discussed Israeli operations in Iran over the past year and claimed that activities are ongoing, according to Israel Hayom newspaper.

He said, “When we struck Iran last year, we were on their territory and knew how to prepare the ground for the attack. I can assure you that our people are working there right now.”

Referring to Iran’s internal situation and possible Israeli involvement, he added “Are they now acting directly to topple the regime? No. Are they acting to ensure that Iran cannot threaten us from all other aspects? Yes.”

Earlier this week, Eliyahu called for action against “terrorist elements in the Bedouin diaspora,” saying the issue “is no less serious than jihadist terrorism.” He also urged that “the same measures used against Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorists” be applied against those causing unrest.

Illegal settlers steal 200 sheep, a vehicle amid attack in occupied West Bank

Illegal Israeli settlers stole around 200 sheep and a vehicle during an attack on a Palestinian town northwest of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank early Saturday, according to local sources.

The sources told Anadolu that a group of settlers raided a farm owned by Palestinian resident Thaer al-Nabbali in the town of Kobar, where they assaulted the farm’s guard, tied his hands, and briefly detained him.

They added that the settlers seized around 200 sheep along with a vehicle parked near the farm before fleeing the area.

The incident comes amid a surge in illegal settler violence against Palestinians and their property across the West Bank, with repeated complaints over the lack of protection for civilians and the absence of accountability for the attackers.

Israeli forces and illegal settlers have killed at least 1,103 Palestinians in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, injured nearly 11,000, and detained around 21,000 since October 2023, Palestinian figures showed.

In a landmark opinion last July, the International Court of Justice declared Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territory illegal and called for the evacuation of all settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
