Home Farm Road, where L3Harris Factory operates, covered in fake blood with the message ‘L3Harris KILLS KIDS’

ACTIVISTS targeted an arms factory in Brighton which makes parts for fighter jets used by the Israeli military on Thursday.

The protesters sprayed the L3Harris factory with fake red blood and scrawled “L3Harris kills kids” near the entrance.

The firm continues to make bomb release mechanisms for F-35 fighter jets, which were excluded from the government’s embargo on 30 arms licences to Israel last month.

The jets have been used to drop 2,000lb bombs on Gaza and now in Israel’s attacks on Lebanon.

Locals have been campaigning for the factory’s landlord Paxton Access to evict the firm from the premises.

The community-wide campaign, spearheaded by StopL3Harris, has also called on the local council as freeholders of the land to shut it down.

TRADE unionists and pensioners will mobilise on Monday to demand the government reverse its axing of the winter fuel allowance.

Unite, the National Pensioners Convention (NPC) and the Scottish Pensioners’ Forum will head a mass demonstration outside Parliament calling for the allowance to be restored to all pensioners.

During Labour’s annual conference last month, Unite defeated the party leadership when it won support for a motion demanding the restoration of the allowance and the introduction of a wealth tax to fund it.

The union is campaigning under the slogan “Defend the Winter Fuel Payment.”

Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said: “The government’s winter fuel policy needs to be reversed. Picking the pockets of pensioners is not a tough choice — it is a mistake

Badenoch being holed up in the flat of a millionaire donor, currency trader and Tufton Street think-tanker is actually depressingly predictable.

Tory leadership hopeful Kemi Badenoch has been running her leadership campaign from the home of a wealthy donor, according to Bloomberg reports.

Despite the Conservatives going on the attack over Sir Keir Starmer’s use of a London flat in the run-up to the general election, which he declared, Rishi Sunak’s potential successor has been doing precisely the same thing – and has yet to make that fact public.

Bloomberg notes that Badenoch has been running her leadership campaign from the home of Neil Record, who is the chair of the climate science denial group Net Zero Watch.

Neil is also the former chair of the Institute of Economic Affairs, a think-tank closely linked to Liz Truss that was originally based on the infamous Tufton Street.

Conservatives have praised Wes Streeting at their annual party conference, saying the Labour Health Secretary has shown “political courage” by recognising that “the NHS model isn’t working properly”.

George Freeman, the Tory MP for Mid Norfolk who has twice served as science, innovation and technology minister, was asked about the Labour government’s healthcare plans at a Monday fringe event on life sciences research.

“The new government have made very clear there’s a lot of continuity. I’m pretty cheered,” the Conservative MP replied.

He said that he had been in discussions with Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Science Secretary Peter Kyle about life sciences research and the health innovation economy. 

“I’m talking to Keir and Peter Kyle and others. They have been kind enough to say this is one of the areas they don’t view as part of the broken inheritance.”

HEZBOLLAH agreed to a ceasefire hours before its leader Hassan Nasrallah was assassinated in an Israel air strike on Beirut, Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib said today

The sensational claim came during an interview with Christiane Amanpour on US broadcaster CNN.

Mr Habib said that Mr Nasrallah’s agreement to the ceasefire had been communicated to both the US and French governments.

He confirmed that they had told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who reportedly welcomed the initiative.

The Lebanese prime minister also said he had heard that US special envoy for the Middle East Moss Hochstein was in the process of being dispatched to Lebanon to negotiate a temporary ceasefire before the assassination took place.
