A group of illegal Israeli settlers stormed the West Bank city of Hebron on Saturday, Anadolu Agency reports.
Israeli soldiers provided protection and escorted the settlers during the raid on the Old City area, imposing heavy security measures.
Such raids are a recurring practice, with Israeli settlers carrying out raids under the protection and escort of Israeli army forces.
The Israeli army has escalated its attacks in the occupied West Bank since the outbreak of the Gaza war in October 2023.
Israeli forces and illegal settlers have killed at least 1,097 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, injured nearly 11,000, and detained around 21,000 since October 2023, according to Palestinian figures.
In a landmark opinion last July, the International Court of Justice declared Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territory illegal and called for the evacuation of all settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

Illegal Israeli settlers attacked Palestinian vehicles Saturday in the village of attacked Palestinian vehicles in the central occupied West Bank, Anadolu reports.
A group of illegal settlers blocked the path of Palestinian vehicles in the village and attacked them while Israeli forces were present, the Palestinian news agency Wafa reported.
The agency said the attack did not result in any injuries.
Separately, the Israeli army closed the four entrances to the city of Jericho in the eastern West Bank, preventing passage and causing severe traffic gridlock and the accumulation of hundreds of vehicles, eyewitnesses told Anadolu without clarifying the reason for the closure.
They added that some of the dirt roads drivers tried to use had illegal settlers present on them, forcing many people to turn back.
A total of 916 permanent and temporary Israeli checkpoints cut through cities and towns across the occupied West Bank, including more than 243 iron gates erected after the start of the genocidal war on the Gaza Strip in Oct. 2023, which continued for two years.
Many Palestinians in various areas of the West Bank are forced to use multiple means of transportation between cities and villages, amid Israel’s closure of dozens of gates it has installed across the West Bank.

With parliament’s Christmas hiatus beckoning, there’s one shameful chapter left wide open: the six hunger-striking prisoners, who become more likely to sustain irreversible physical damage or die with every hour of government inaction.
At least two of the detainees, held in connection to Palestine Action activism, have now surpassed day 48 of refusing food. Day 46 was the point at which one of the 23 participants in the Irish republican hunger strike of 1981 died as part of the struggle against Britain’s colonial occupation of Ireland.
But Starmer and his cabinet seem to have nothing to say.
When challenged by Jeremy Corbyn to commit to meeting representatives of the hunger strikers in the Commons on Wednesday, the prime minister replied that he is following the ‘rules and procedures’ in place.
These ‘rules and procedures’ seem unlikely to safeguard the lives of those who remain on hunger strike: Amu Gibb (Amy Gardiner-Gibson), Qesser Zuhrah, Heba Muraisi, Teuta ‘T’ Hoxha, Kamran Ahmed and Lewie Chiaramello.
Zuhrah, Muraisi, Hoxha and Ahmed are part of the ‘Filton 24’, held in connection with a break-in at an Elbit Systems weapons factory, while Gibb and Chiaramello are held in connection with damage to aircraft at RAF Brize Norton, where planes were splashed with red paint.
Zuhrah, who has refused food since 2 November, saw her health deteriorate severely this week, experiencing severe chest pain, the inability to stand and repeated loss of consciousness. She was taken to hospital on Wednesday from HMP Bronzefield after hours of protest outside the privately-run prison.
Campaign group Prisoners For Palestine (PFP) said they had repeatedly attempted to call an ambulance for Zuhrah over a period of 19 hours, but were informed by 999 call handlers that the emergency vehicle would just be turned away by the prison.

A police officer at a protest for the Palestine Action hunger strikers strangled a doctor until she passed out by dragging her by the back of her hoodie, the doctor has told Novara Media.
Dr Olivia Brandon was among several medical professionals who gathered with other supporters outside HMP Bronzefield on Wednesday 17 December to demand the prison allow in an ambulance to treat a hunger striker suffering from severe chest pains.
The alleged attack came after police arrested two protesters, including psychiatric doctor Dr Ayo Moiett, who protesters say was targeted both because he is black and because he played a pivotal role in forcing the prison to eventually let the ambulance come.
Brandon, who works in the A&E department at a London hospital, said she and other protesters sat in the road to prevent police vans from leaving with the detainees – after which officers “started assaulting everyone” as they cleared the road.
She felt an officer grab her hoodie from behind and then drag her along the road.
“I was wearing a tight jumper under my hoodie and because of the force the officer was using, this was strangling me. I remember retching and being in a lot of pain,” she said.
In video footage of the incident, Brandon can be heard choking as she raises a hand to her throat.

POLICE forces are not protecting Jews when they target protesters who legitimately oppose Israel’s war crimes, campaigners have warned.
Jewish Voice for Liberation (JVL) has hit out at the Met and Greater Manchester police chiefs, who have said protesters who chant “globalise the intifada” will be arrested.
Defending the peace marches seen across Britain since the start of Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza, JVL said the chant is not one regularly heard at the mass London demonstrations.
The group said: “If it is used as a taunt to individuals or groups of Jews it may amount to harassment, but otherwise it should be accepted as what it literally means — a call to make resistance to Israeli crimes global.”
But it said the Jewish Bloc, which proudly proclaims its Jewish identity, has always been prepared to challenge any anti-semitism it has encountered on the demonstrations.
The group insisted that it has very rarely, if ever, encountered anything it needs to respond to.
JVL also took issue with the conflation of pro-Palestine activism and the rise of anti-semitic hate crimes, claiming “legitimate peaceful protest” should not be confused with what is “correctly illegal activity.”
“It unfairly casts doubt on the intent of those, including the substantial Jewish Bloc, expressing their horror at the continuing genocide in Gaza and the complicity of our government in it,” the group added.

Devastation and suffering from heavy rainfall and storms that hit Gaza are the foreseeable consequences of Israel’s ongoing genocide and were an “utterly preventable tragedy,” Amnesty International said Wednesday, Anadolu reports.
In a statement, the international human rights group said the devastating scenes of flooded tents and collapsed buildings in Gaza that have emerged in recent days “cannot be blamed solely on bad weather.”
“They are the foreseeable consequences of Israel’s ongoing genocide and deliberate policy of blocking the entry of shelter and repair materials for the displaced,” said Erika Guevara Rosas, Amnesty International’s senior director for research, advocacy, policy, and campaigns.
Stressing how Israel has only allowed extremely limited supplies to reach the enclave’s people, the statement said this is further indication that Israeli authorities are continuing to “deliberately inflict on Palestinians in Gaza conditions of life calculated to bring about their physical destruction – an act prohibited under the Genocide Convention, an act prohibited under the Genocide Convention.”
“The devastation and deaths caused by the storm in Gaza provide yet another wakeup call to the international community, paid for with the lives of people who had managed to survive two years of Israel’s ongoing genocide,” underlined Rosas.
She called on the international community to urgently enable Gaza to prepare for the severe winter conditions by pressing Israel to end the blockade on Gaza and lift all restrictions on the entry of life-saving supplies, including shelter materials, nutritious food, and medical aid.
The statement stressed that after multiple displacements, destruction of or damage to at least 81% of structures, and the designation of nearly 58% of Gaza’s total area as no-go zones, the overwhelming majority of Palestinians are now living in dilapidated tents or damaged shelters.
“I still cannot digest the thought that we survived the bombardment only for my children to be crushed as a result of the storm,” Mohammed Nassar, the father of Lina and Ghazi, who died after their severely damaged home collapsed, was quoted by the statement as saying.
Lina, 18, and Ghazi, 15, died when their severely damaged home in Sheikh Radwan collapsed on Dec. 12 following the storms.
On Wednesday, the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) warned that Storm Byron has further aggravated the already dire living conditions for thousands of displaced people in the Gaza Strip, many of whom are sheltering in tents or damaged buildings.
Since last week, thousands of tents housing survivors of Israel’s war have turned into pools of water, soaking bedding, clothing, and food supplies, and leaving hundreds of Palestinian families exposed to the cold without warmth or shelter.
The Gaza Strip, the media office said, needs around 300,000 tents and prefabricated housing units to meet the most basic shelter needs of Palestinians after the destruction of the enclave’s infrastructure in two years of Israeli attacks.
Israel’s two-year war in Gaza killed more than 70,000 Palestinians and decimated the enclave. The assault was supposed to come to a halt under a fragile ceasefire deal that took effect in October.
However, Palestinians accuse Israel of repeatedly violating the Gaza ceasefire agreement. At least 393 people have been killed and 1,074 others injured in Israeli attacks since the ceasefire, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.
Israeli Prime Minister is wanted by the International Criminal Court for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. This week, the appeals chamber of the ICC rejected Israel’s legal challenge seeking to block an investigation into its actions in the genocidal war in the Palestinian territory.
