Hinkley Point C

Spread the love

Leader of the Opposition Jeremy Corbyn should be commended in opposing and Prime Minister Theresa May should be commended in showing caution and wisdom in the proposed Hinkley Point C nuclear power station. There are so many causes for concern in these proposals. Hinkley Point C should not proceed at any cost and there should be thorough, clear and sober assessment.

The proposed Hinkley Point C reactors (2 of them) are a new and unproven design of reactor, the European Pressurized Reactor (EPR). EPRs are a form of Pressurised Water Reactor.

The four EPRs already being built have all experienced construction problems and are all uncompleted, over-budget and delayed by years.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EPR_(nuclear_reactor)

Four EPR units are under construction. The first two, in Finland and France, are both facing costly construction delays (to at least 2018). Construction commenced on two Chinese units in 2009 and 2010.[1] The Chinese units were to start operation in 2014 and 2015,[2] but are now expected to come online in 2017.[3]

Olkiluoto 3 in Finland was scheduled to go online in 2009. It is currently expected to start operation in 2018. source It is hugely over-budget. source

Flamanville 3 in France was due to start operation in 2012. It is currently delayed until late 2018. source

These dates of 2018 should be regarded as optimistic spin likely to be superseded with later dates.

Flamanville‘s lid and base to the reactor vessel are flawed and below the required standard, weakened by excessive carbon content in the steel. There are suggestions that the French nuclear safety authority (ASN) may require that the vessel is replaced or even that the project is abandoned.

Just keep him away from everything

Give him some toys to play with

Don’t engage him with anything, he’s very simple and he won’t understand anything more than toys. He can’t do it. When he was mayor he just had tantrums. He’s a child.

ed: and so it starts. Couldn’t you just euthanise him Terry? It would have been best for all of us and now I’ve got to do my duty. I want to retire.

slightly later edit: It’s a real shame that totally useless upper class twats with a history of neanderthalism can’t find anywhere to go but politics.

I did actually mention this to Cameron – they’ve got enough money. Why bother us?

Can’t they just fuck off and be rich without bothering us?

AND I still have issues.

[20/7/16  2.10 BST It should be noted that the following is not about Boris the Twat.]

ed: I’ve wanted to retire for years. It’s on record circa G8 and then there that was that ridiculous fascist bullshism. Hey Terry, I have a question for you. I have endured and had some good hits for so long. Where / When’s it going to end / who’s going to prevail/win?

Is there a compromise / can we negotiate? IB!

I said it

20/7/16 IB! Such a totally corrupt shit given high office because he was such a total partisan shit. Promoting murder. Perhaps I cannot say participating, but I can say facilitating the … excusal of mass murderers and the following excusal of foreign murderers (Foreign forces) in UK.

[ed 2.11 BST 20/7/16 Participating is weird because apparently it is legal to do nothing while people die.] You bastards chose who was to die according to their politics and their names. (and nationality, mixed marriages). Oh, and of course … numbers.

continuing

More than that. Inciting murder …

continuing

What about murdering a commuter who has a certain name, a certain profession and nationality? Was he responsible for that? I think that it was probably foreign forces invited by Blair but he was definitely responsible for covering it up so well.

[20/7/16 2.52 BST His name provides directions to a political dissident. Come and ask me if you can’t suss it.]

[20/7/16 There’s much more than that actually. IB was making clear that it was me he wanted killed. Hopefully this is still in police records. Please don’t delete it – he deserves no less than being hung by his balls.]

I’m not willing to accept the bullshit. It would be good if many people were not willing to accept that bullshit.

So many people are aware of that … Journalists, politicians, etc. It is so clear.

It is disgusting that so many people are aware of it and are willing to do nothing.

A totally innocent man has been murdered. If you consider that acceptable, then you totally disgust me. You consider it fair to murder a totally uninvolved, innocent person?

[20/7/16 2.35 BST

I should make clear to the international audience IB is Ian Blair former Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police who was sent to the Lords by disgraced former Labour Home Secretary Jacqui Smith.]

I congratulate Theresa May on becoming Prime Minister and leader of the Conservative Party

Spread the love

I extend genuine, sincere congratulations to Theresa May on becoming Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and leader of the Conservative Party. I was impressed with her speech as Prime Minister stressing inclusion and empowerment. Was that right? Was I mistaken there?

Nobody is really going to challenge that I am – and have been – a political activist. What else then? I am likely to engage Prime Minister May as I have engaged former politicians. I should be regarded as a political activist and no more than that.

I have some issues that I would like resolved, in the interest of justice according to themes expressed in Prime Minister May’s speech.

Boris Johnson’s water cannon farce reveals why he will never be prime minister by Adam Bienkov

“…

The inspectors found the weapons have as little as two years’ operational life left before they have to be turned into scrap. Recurrent problems with the pump and the “critical failure” of the tank would be hugely costly to repair and there could be significant problems finding spare parts for vehicles that are now at the end of their operational life. Day-to-day operation and maintenance of the weapons would also be complicated by the lack of any manuals available in English. Meanwhile the time needed to make essential repairs could leave the weapons out of service for significant periods of time.

Bullingdon Tory idiot Boris Johnson

In short, the Home Office found the weapons to be seriously dangerous, hugely difficult and expensive to maintain and operate, and shortly in need of a trip to the scrap yard.

Given the majority of these problems were public knowledge in Germany before Johnson agreed to buy the weapons, it is incredible that he still went ahead anyway. It is especially baffling given that he was repeatedly warned against buying the weapons, not just by his opponents, but by his own former policing deputy and his own party on the London Assembly. Last year, when Johnson pushed ahead with their purchase anyway, a senior member of his City Hall team told me that Boris would “live to regret” his decision. How right they were.

In fact, Johnson’s more sensible advisers aside, the only people to have come out of this sorry saga well are the negotiators of the German police force. The ingenuity and financial sense of the Germans has been somewhat called into question in recent weeks. However, they can hardly be faulted for their prudent management of this particular deal. It is difficult at the best of times to dispose of obsolete and life-threatening military hardware. But for the Germans to get a foreign politician to actually pay 300,000 euros for the privilege of disposing of the defunct weapons for them was a particularly impressive feat.

Theresa May, you either hear me or you don’t sign it

Spread the love

Theresa May, Home Secretary

I know it doesn’t have to be you – it can be some Chief Constable

but I’ll hold you responsible

because as Home Secretary,

you are responsible

You’re either going to lift this RIPA order on me

[actually it may be many RIPA orders: They tend to say according to RIPA you will do this and not tell anyone under threat of serious imprisonment. RIPA is about don’t tell anyone (even your solicitor) or you’ll be imprisoned. So there may be many RIPA orders. If I get one I’ll publish it.]

OR

account for it

OK?

ed: and I suggest that RIPA orders are so anti-democratic, why not publish them? I would really not be surprised if RIPA orders have been for political rather than any other purpose. Time to publish them? You could always pretend that they were leaked ..

The one on my ISP is … Don’t let him have his stats – don’t let him know how many people visit his website. How does that serve any useful purpose other than hit the political activist? What else can it achieve?

It’s weird isn’t it? I think that it is right that I should be given the opportunity to respond to the charges made against me. Shouldn’t I have the opportunity to defend myself against these charges made against me? Apparently not, lucky I don’t live in Pak.

Why is there so much hostility to me? There is so much hostility to me because I have been a successful political activist. The problem is that for invisible and unaccountable processes unknown to me where I have no opportunity to represent myself to seek to silence me is not appropriate for a democratic society.

I call you Fascist. I call you Fascist not only for silencing dissent but for repressing any political opposition.

Theresa May, The Tory, Lib-Tory coalition you lift this RIPA political repression immediately. Now.

You have to justify it anyway and you have to justify why it continues. Now and advise everyone that these RIPA orders are lifted NOW, not tomorrow. NOW.

You cancel these RIPA orders now. Theresa May, Home Secretary you lift these RIPA orders now because political activism is legitimate activity. Now.

Theresa May, Home Secretary, You have to recognise my absolute right to express myself. I am a political activist and I have an absolute right to criticise you and your government.

This is how it’s going to be. You are not going to interfere with my right to express myself in any way. Got it? If you are going to sign these RIPA orders or allow some subordinates to do it, then you are going to allow me the opportunity to challenge it. Got it?

That’s the least I expect from a democratic society.

I know fully well that my home has been bugged, that a car I have often use of has been bugged and that an occasional friend of mine’s home has been been bugged. I consider that that’s excessively unreasonable and out of order. I’m sure that any concerned newspaper could confirm this – they’re still going to be there. Any newspapers interested?

I am actually concerned about govt spying even before all this started – back in 2000/1 or so … not against me even. There may even be evidence of that.
